The Pocket Dump Project is a year-long endeavor to discover what Americans carry in their pockets, purses, and backpacks. Between June 2024 and June 2025, I will be taking trips all over the United States and asking people to empty their pockets, purses, and backpacks so that I can photograph their contents. I will compile the most interesting and compelling photos and share them with the world via a coffee table book to be published in Fall 2025.

My entrance into the world of Everyday Carry, better known as EDC, prompted the project. I wondered how many people carried pocket knives, flashlights, prybars, and lighters daily instead of just posting pictures on Instagram.
